The Back Story

I grew up in Owatonna, MN in a Godly family of 6.  I am # 3 of 4 boys.

I was blessed as a child to be raised in church and mentored up in things of the Lord.  In junior high and high school, I began serving in the church in by running audio, playing guitar on the worship team & leading worship.  I have always been pretty mechanically minded and in in high school as I was seeking the Lord on what carrer he had in mind for me, I discovered aviation and was interested in how it paired with my interests in overseas missions (and I.T.).  I attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated with an airplane mechanic’s certification, a pilot’s license, a Bachelor of Science degree, and a wife (the best part).

After graduating, Mary and I were invited to serve with Mercy Air in South Africa.  We moved across the globe and ministered there for a year and a half.  We had expected that it would be a long-term service assignment, so it was difficult as we observed the need for flights declining and our piloting skills were minimally used.  We were active in office work, property maintenance and management of the guest apartments; but we felt like it was not aligned enough with what the Lord and our sponsors had commissioned us to do.  After a lot of prayer and some hard conversations, we chose to return to the States and seek our next assignment.  Little did we know that our next season would not even include flying!  Just before leaving S. Africa, our daughter Anya was born.

After pursuing opportunities in the aviation industry, we felt like the Lord was providing an opportunity to learn real estate from Mary’s father.  I accepted a position with his commercial real estate development company and have been serving his company since.  I have learned a lot over the years as I’ve overseen construction projects, managed properties and have provided all of the technology services for the properties and the company.

Mary and I are both entrepreneurial and we enjoy starting new things.  A few years after being back from Africa, we were introduced to a business concept that was a unique blend of ministry, hospitality, healthcare, and real estate.  We pursued training and then started our own residential care home (a mini assisted living for 8 people) called Grand Living.  I learned a lot about business and people during the 9 years of running Grand Living.  In 2017 the big nursing homes began building additional large facilities in our market.  The competition was high and our market was oversaturated with “good deals”, “new facilities”, and empty beds.  We chose to close our doors in November of 2019, which turned out to be a huge blessing with the arrival of COVID just 4 months later.  Mary and I frequently thank the Lord for sparing us the challenge of navigating the families, residents, and staff through such a time as 2020 was.

As a result of seeking the Lord for His plan for my life in the next season, I discovered coaching was a great fit for me.  I had been developing leaders for almost 10 years at that point through small group formats and realized it was time to get fomal training to step into coaching as a business.  In the winter of 2020, I pursued coach training and achieved my International Coach Federation (ICF) Accociate Coach Certification (ACC).  I also achieved Business Made Simple Coach certification in 2020.

I love encouraging others to be their best and helping people grow into the full potential.  I do this by leading development/coaching groups and individual coaching.

My dream for this life is to activate 500,000 people to “get off the bench and into the game” for the Kingdom.  Through coaching and courses this is possible.

Too many Believers live a life feeling defeated because of past experiences or choices.  You’re creator doesn’t want you to live that way.  We were not designed by our Father to struggle through life and crawl into heaven like we just barely made it through life.  He wants us to live daily with a healthy heart and a focus that allows us to be an effective child on-mission for advancing His Kingdom.  He wants us to confidently join Him in heaven with our shoulders up and our head held high knowing we “fought the good fight and we finished the race.”

Don’t drag past hurts with you through life.  Get healed and equipped to confidently live the Life He’s calling you to.  Everyone you love will be so glad you did!

The Back Story

I grew up in Akron, OH in a Godly family of 5.  I am the middle of 3 girls and my Mom still calls me by the nickname “lunchmeat” (it’s where the flavor is!).

I was blessed as a child to receive a Christian education and mentoring through Chapel Hill Christian School and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.  In high school, the Lord began developing a love in me for international missions service.  This is still strong in my heart today.   I first experienced missionary aviation on a family trip to Ecuador, when I was 13.   I felt the Lord directing me to pursue this training as a pilot for my post-high school career.  I attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated with an airplane mechanic’s certification, a pilot’s license, a Bachelor of Science degree, and a husband.

After graduating, Joash and I were invited to serve with Mercy Air in South Africa.

I loved being a new Mom.  I am thankful for the privilege I had to be home raising Anya.  With extra time for reading, I contracted an “entrepreneurial bug” that drew me into the world of business.  I started my own network marketing business selling Arbonne skincare products.  I still maintain a few clients today.

After running my Arbonne business for three years, Joash and I were ready for a new challenge.  We were introduced to a business concept that was a unique blend of ministry, hospitality, healthcare, and real estate. Joash and I frequently thank the Lord for sparing us the challenge of navigating the families, residents, and staff through such a time as 2020 was.

For me, 2020 was a year of rest (after 8 yrs. of constant on-call), and study.  The Lord has been healing my heart in the disappointment of releasing our business, and increasing my desire to continue in ministry.  My new focus is on 1-on-1 coaching, teaching courses, and leading international trips.

In 2021, in addition to coaching and teaching, Joash and I are developing a new offering for couples and individuals called “Dream Vacations.”  These will be experiences where we take a group of people to a local or international getaway and integrate personal growth material within the vacation week.  Some of our ideas include: Tuscany, Hocking Hills, kayak in Chile, white water rafting, Playa del Carmen, surfing in Barbados, Smokey Mts., a missions trip. . .   This will be a wonderful opportunity for people to take a pause from their normal routine and really focus on where their life is going.  I’m excited to see this dream of mine come to pass, and for the new amazing relationships that will be built!

Another area where I implement my life message of “there is always more with God” is through leading a prophetic development group.  Since 2017, I have offered an intro to the prophetic course.  This has been a delight for me to mentor people who are prophetically gifted, but have lacked teaching to recognize it or a safe space to develop their skills.   We are seeking to obey and live out 1 Cor. 14:1-4 “EAGERLY DESIRE spiritual gifts, ESPECIALLY to prophesy.  The one who prophesies EDIFIES THE CHURCH.”  Our prophetic community is active today on a monthly basis.

Another spiritual gifting that I love to minister in and activate others is Healing.  I had an extensive struggle with low back pain for 8.5 years in my 30’s.  It eventually became so debilitating that I could only sleep for 4 hrs. at a time or sit for 15 min. before I had to get up and stretch it.  This motivated me to participate in a 2 week healing outreach in Brazil with Randy Clark.  I saw so many incredible healing miracles, through MY prayer line!  Wow!!  It ignited a new level of faith and passion in me to see people set free from bondage in their bodies.  Interestingly, my own back was not healed during this time, so I proceeded with surgery, and God gloriously set me free from constant pain and restored my life!   This frustrating question: “When we pray, why is not everyone immediately healed?” is what drives my current study of inner healing.  I now believe that some infirmities in our body have links to trauma, unforgiveness, or open doors through sin.  I have seen some stubborn afflictions now responding to healing prayer, once the internal work had been corrected.  We truly are complex creations who live in a spiritual world.

People who know me will tell you that I am always learning something new and challenging them to do the same!  I will nudge you beyond your comfort zone, but cheer and support you all the way into your next level.  It has been said of me, “Run with the big dogs or stay on the porch.”  I say, Let’s go run together!!

Many Christians are on the bench, watching and cheering, instead of creating their own victories in the Kingdom.  At LucyBella Coaching, we train and activate Christians to live fully in their Kingdom role.  So that you will have your own wins and testimonies with God.

Like you, we want more!
